FIR Filed against The Andheri Recreation Club of Mumbai for Playing Copyrighted Music without License

An FIR under the copyright act has been filed against The Andheri Recreation Club of Mumbai on 20th Nov 2017, for copyright infringement based on a complaint registered by Novex Communications. The club was playing the songs which includeGulaabofrom the movie Shaandaar, Kala Chashma from the movie Baar Baar Dekho and Laila Main Laila from the movie Raees without paying for it — the rights of which were assigned to Novex Communications by Zee Music. The same company has filed FIRs against many such Clubs, Five-Star Hotels, Resorts, and Malls as well.
